Bashir Ahmad Dar, 45, a PDP worker and a pharmacist in Pulwama’s Rajpora district was killed, while his cousin Altaf Dar sustained bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment in hospital, the state police said. Kashmir has been on the boil since Srinagar’s bypolls on 9 April, when protesters, including stone-pelters, took to the streets to urge a boycott of the elections. Meanwhile, former chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted following Sheikh’s death, “Just so sad, this spiral of violence from which there seems to be no escape.
