Olufemi AtoyebiThe Peoples Democratic Party has won the Ibarapa East Constituency by-election which was held on Saturday to fill the vacant position created by the death of former speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Michael Adeyemo. Thirty six year-old Adeyemo is the younger brother of the late speaker, who died on April 27, 2018 in Ibadan. The late speaker was sworn in as Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly on June 12, 2015. He won the four wards in Eruwa, his home town, and two other wards in Lanlate, hometown of his contender. The APC candidate, Adeyemo, won four wards in Lanlate.
