This was assured by PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino during the recent joint probe of the House Committees on Dangerous Drugs and on Good Government and Public Accountability on the supposed large-scale drug smuggling in the country. “We are continuing our internal cleansing in our organization to ensure that it will not be repeated,” he said, referring to the involvement of former PDEA Deputy Director for Administration Ismael Fajardo in the drug trade. Aquino said they are still validating some intelligence reports that “there are still higher personalities” involved in the drug trade, aside from Fajardo.
