A month long protest by PDB staff has been postponed after this decision and they will join their work from today. PDB employees stopped their protest programmes on September 1 after they signed an agreement with State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid. After becoming a corporation, all companies in power sector including the newly formed North West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited, Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited, Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited and West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited will be brought under PDB control. For the incorporation process, the PDB recently advertised for Expressions of Interest (EoI) from consultancy firms; five have submitted EoIs so far. “We have stopped our protest as the government has promised us that it will bring all the companies under PDB,” he said.
