MANILA, Philippines — The operator of Peryahan ng Bayan in Quezon City yesterday slammed the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for disrespecting the decision of the Department of Justice (DOJ) allowing its operations to continue. In a statement sent to The STAR, Globaltech Mobile Online Corp. expressed alarm over the reported statement of PCSO general manager Alexander Balutan that his agency will continue its crackdown on the firm’s operations, which the DOJ has declared to be legal. The PCSO has filed a petition for review with the CA, challenging the RTC’s order. The DOJ ruled that until PCSO secures a favorable ruling from the CA, the operations of Globaltech remain legal. The respondents were arrested by NBI upon request by Marcelo Flores, vice president of Great Platinum Gaming Online, who claimed that Globaltech’s operations were illegal.
