PCG: Sea travelers reach 74,000 as New Year’s Day approaches


Sea travelers continue to swarm ports across the country brealy 12 hours before the year 2017 ends, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). In its latest breakdown issued on Sunday, the PCG said they monitored a total of 74,909 outbound passengers in all ports nationwide. ADVERTISEMENTThe biggest portion of outbound passengers were monitored in Central Visayas with 16,593 travelers, followed by Western Visayas with 12,076, and Southern Visayas with 8,355. In addition, 7,390 passengers were also reported leaving ports in Southern Tagalog, 6,905 travelers from Southern Mindanao ports, and 4,358 from Palawan ports. Moreover, the PCG said 4,382 were reported traveling from Northern Mindanao ports, 2,980 travelers in Eastern Visayas ports, and 3,219 passengers in Southwestern Mindanao ports.
