PAGASA monitors tropical depression 72 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Ellalyn De Vera-RuizThe low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of the Philippines has intensified into a tropical depression Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the tropical depression which is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) was estimated at 3,575 kilometers east of Mindanao. “So far, weather forecasting models show that the tropical depression will only stay close to the PAR line then recurve away from the country,” Rojas said. Rojas said the northeasterly surface wind flow will bring fair weather over the entire country within the next few days.
