P.E.I. chief electoral officer steps down


's chief electoral officer is no longer on the job, effective Monday. A news release Monday morning from the legislative assembly said Gary McLeod had resigned. McLeod became chief electoral officer in January 2013. McLeod also oversaw the plebiscite on electoral reform, where online voting was used for the first time in the province. Marian Johnston, Clerk Assistant and Clerk of Committees for the Legislative Assembly is acting Chief Electoral Officer.
