The ancient city of Oyo is currently hosting people from different parts of the South-West Nigeria and beyond, at its popular Durbar Stadium for the installation of Chief Gani Adam as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, had, last year October, announced Gani Adams, leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), as the new Aare Oba Kakanfo of Yorubaland. Traditional rulers from Igboland and the Niger Delta, including their chief are also in attendance. Apart from guests across Nigeria, foreigners also made it to Oyo to witness the historic occasion. President Muhammadu Buhari, had congratulated Gani Adams, on his installation as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.
