The Irish branch of Oxfam has said it will take the lead in safeguarding YUI MOK/PAA total of 130 of the 30,000 people who make regular donations to Oxfam Ireland have stopped since The Times reported that some of its staff used prostitutes in Haiti. The Irish branch of the charity has pledged to take a lead role globally to implement safeguarding systems after details emerged of the sexual misconduct of the charity’s workers in Haiti after the earthquake in 2010. In Britain 7,000 people have stopped regular donations and Haiti has temporarily suspended Oxfam GB from the country.
