The owner of a building that collapsed in Huruma has been released on a Sh3 million bond or a cash bail of Sh600,000. The accused, Samuel Kamau, faces 52 counts of manslaughter , after a building belonging to him collapsed in April, killing 52 people. It is also alleged that the building was illegally constructed and occupied on riparian land. The prosecution alleges that the owners of the building were sold riparian land by a government body, and they later subdivided the land in 2011.
