Rush beat Leinster by 8 runsA magnificent 154 from debutant Llew Johnson helped Rush claim a narrow eight run victory over Leinster on Saturday afternoon. New Zealander Johnson is Rush’s overseas professional for this season and he made a huge impression with a brilliant display on his debut. Rush had started well with that near century from Jack McGee but with both Finn McGee and Saadat Gull going cheaply it gave Leinster the momentum with Rush now on 84/3 after 20.5 overs. Tonge ended up with three wickets for Leinster while Joe Carroll and skipper Bilal Azhar claimed two apiece. Best of the bowlers for Rush was Jack McGee who claimed four wickets while Asher Abassi and Daniel Coffey claimed two apiece.
