Over a dozen TTP alleged terrorists held in joint operation at Karachi


KARACHI: Sindh Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday arrested over a dozen of alleged terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered a large number of ammunition, weapons and bombs during a joint operation in Suhrab Goth area of Karachi. He said that the entry and the exit points of the areas were sealed and a house to house search operation took place, after which Rangers and CTD arrested the 16 suspects allegedly linked to TTP. According to the Rangers spokesperson, the arrested persons belong to Ustad Aslam group- a splinter group of TTP. Earlier, Karachi police had claimed the killing of 5 terrorists of ISIS earlier this week during an operation in the outskirts of the city. A Malaysian citizen was also arrested on Quaid-e-Azam’s International Airport, and another major terrorist bid also was foiled on December 23, 2017, in the city.
