more-inThe Delhi Police plans to deploy over 56,000 police personnel across the Capital to ensure that the civic elections are conducted smoothly on Sunday. “We have deployed 56,256 policemen, including 40 companies of paramilitary forces and 20,000 Homeguards across 13,022 polling booths,” said spokesperson Deependra Pathak. Mr. Pathak added that more policemen would be deployed in sensitive and hypersensitive areas. Among the sensitive booths are Idgah road, Kabir Basti, Majnu ka Tila and Pratap Nagar. The security arrangements will be in place till the counting day on April 26.
