Over 18,000 crosses placed on Auckland Domain for Armistice day


A cross for each kiwi who died in World War 1 has been set up in Auckland Domain. The grass has been covered by 18, 277 crosses in remembrance of the New Zealanders who lost their lives for the upcoming 100th anniversary of Armistice day. NZDF The Royal New Zealand Navy helped out with laying the crosses. The field of remembrance took three days to set up with help from Vanguard Military School, Royal New Zealand Navy and Auckland RSA. From November 15 to 17 next of kin of those who are represented on the crosses are invited to uplift the crosses.
