NewsMore than 100 army personnel were deployed to assist the Colombo Fire Brigade (CMC) to douse yesterday's (4) fire at the Bloemendhal garbage dump, Army Headquarters stated. A media release by the Army said that troops of the 14th Division of Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) were deployed to assist the CMC Fire Brigade and members of the public. Even as at 8.00pm last night, the troops were still engaged in helping to douse the major fire.
