Among those injured, eight have been rushed to hospital in Sylhet, 15 to Habiganj Sadar and 20 to Bahubal Upazila Health complex. Police and locals said, one Belayet Hossain and Dulal Group of Mirpur purchased 4,000 pieces of scrapped cylinders from Omera several days ago. People of Chargaon village took position for Belayet while Shamsu got supporters from seven surrounding villages including East Joypur. A riot police team, led by Assistant Police Superintendent Raselur Rahman rushed to spot and brought the situation under control. They had to fire over three hundreds rounds of rubber bullets and 18 teargas canisters to rein in the situation, ASP Rahman said.
