AMPANG: Ampang Jaya cops had a successful run in Ops Dadu in 2016 during which time they conducted a total of 126 raids and seized 1,071 machines under Ops Dadu, which is aimed at curbing illegal gambling. Between January and December 2016, the police arrested 134 individuals and seized 744 computers, 129 notebook computers and 198 slot machines in the operations. Ampang Jaya OCPD ACP Hamzah Alias said the success of last year's operations was due to local authorities. "They are always there to help and the case has been brought to court where we have received a court order to destroy the seized items on Apr 20," he said. Over 1,000 of the seized machines worth over RM3.01mil were later destroyed at the Hulu Kelang Police Station on Saturday morning.
