PHOTO: REUTERSOver 1,000 police officers and personnel from other law enforcement and security organisations will secure the Eid Miladun Nabi processions in the federal capital. This was decided during a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Monday which was chaired by Islamabad Police Inspector General Aamir Zulfiqar Khan to review security arrangements for the Eid Miladun Nabi processions on Rabiul Awal 12. The route of the main procession, IGP Aamir said, will be completely cordoned off through the heavy deployment of security forces. The route of the procession has been divided into four sectors and four SPs, DSPs and inspectors will lead security duties and monitor the security arrangements in their respective sectors. As per the plan, around 1,000 cops including teams of quick response force (QRF), Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), Counter-Terrorism Force (CTF) and police commandoes will perform security duties while special teams of Rangers, Crime Investigation Department (CID) and the Special Branch will assist them.
