The Carolina Hurricanes’ Andrei Svechnikov just learned that the hard way. Svechnikov, the Hurricanes’ 2nd-overall selection in the 2018 entry draft, fought fellow Russian Alex Ovechkin in the first period of Monday’s Game 3 in Carolina — and took the worst of it. Ovechkin, the playoff-hardened Stanley Cup champion of a year ago, appeared to knock Svechnikov out with a series of right hands. Throwing down with Alex Ovechkin is NOT a great idea. The Hurricanes won Monday’s game 5-0.
