In line with their roles as centres of research and innovations, higher educational institutions in Kwara state have responded in varying forms rendering assistance to the state government in order to flatten the curve of COVID-19 pandemic in the state. The state has a high concentration of public and private universities as well as polytechnics as against other states in the country. Already, It stated that the research team had developed three viable proposals for research on various aspects of the contagious disease. The don said these include the molecular epidemiology surveillance as well as a prototype for the detection of COVID-19. According to the rector, Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, the washing machine was meant to assist in curtailing the coronavirus pandemic.
