The first time police caught serial pedophile Madilyn Harks, a string of sexual assaults against preschool-aged girls in B.C. After being given parole, Harks quickly victimized another young girl by befriending her mom and grooming her with candy. Incomments to the CBC , Brown added that the city was “livid” at having Harks “dumped” on them. “The residents of Brampton will not tolerate this repeat sex offender living amongst them,” wrote Brampton regional councillor Gurpreet Singh Dhillon in his own letter to Goodale. Nine years ago, when Harks was released in Calgary, local authorities expressed similar confusion as to why she had chosen them.
