And before you blame your politicians for politicizing a tragedy and not coming together, know that they aren't the only ones. In fact, they are very much simply reflecting how their constituents view the tragedy. It's a recipe for continued discord in Washington and little to no action on both gun laws and a new approach to terrorism. Just to recap: It's not completely clear how motivated the shooter, Omar Mateen, was by a radical Islamic ideology. Given this polarization, it's no wonder there has been a complete lack of unity in how American politicians have responded to the attacks.
