The forecast for Canada Day in the nation's capital calls for showers and the risk of thunderstorms, but at least it's not supposed to rain all night. Skies will gradually become cloudy Friday morning, with showers beginning in the afternoon and the risk of a thunderstorm. When the UV index reaches 6 or more, Environment Canada advises people to wear protective clothing, sunscreen and seek shade. The high is set to reach 26 C with a high UV index of 7, so remember to pack the sunscreen even though it'll be raining somewhat. The low should drop to about 13 C.Saturday is expected to bring mainly cloudy skies and a high of 20 C — rather cool compared to recent days.
