Chief Mi'sel Joe of the Miawpukek First Nation of Conne River, N.L., has been pressing Scotland for the return of the remains of two Beothuks. Officials at the Edinburgh museum have said they will entertain a request only from the Canadian government in association with the Canadian Museum of History. The National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh requires the Canadian government's involvement in any repatriation request.
