It’s been almost a year since my book, "Claudette on the Keys", was released by Crossfield Publishing. On Sept. 23, I will be giving a talk about the book at the Women’s Art Association, being held on Zoom at 12:30 p.m. Harry and Ida Culley, whose stage name was Claudette, were dubbed “Toronto’s Premier Two-Piano Artists,” playing on radio stations such as CFRB and CKCL. Harry and Ida had built up quite a following – one fan said his family delayed supper so they could tune in. When not on tour, Harry and Ida played on air at Radio Luxembourg, a new commercial station that was challenging the BBC’s non-commercial monopoly.
