KUALA LUMPUR: Outgoing national diving head coach Yang Zhuliang (pic) has had enough of coaching. The Youth and Sports Ministry claimed that his contract was not renewed as he had allowed an “environment of fear” to perpetuate in the national team. Zhuliang coached China’s national team in the 1990s before guiding Malaysia in his first stint from 2001-2005. His early successes with the national team include guiding Yeoh Ken Nee and Leong Mun Yee to three bronze medals at the Busan Asian Games in 2002. He also led Malaysia to a first-ever Olympic medal in the sport – a bronze from Pandelela in London in 2012.
