Speaking in an interview on Asaasepa on February 3, 2026, Gabby stated that he has not heard of any such calls to remove the Minority Leader. “I haven’t heard calls that they should remove Afenyo-Markin, but I think the Minority has done well. Some people are arguing that the Minority Leader should come from the Eastern Region or the Ashanti Region. “If the NPP has a weak leader like Afenyo-Markin, then it is no surprise the party keeps collapsing,” Owusu remarked.
