After 42 years the Otapiri Dance has come to an end. ROBYN EDIE/SOUTHLAND TIMES The final Otapiri Dance was held on Saturday night, at the St Stephens church hall, Invercargill. The Otapiri Dance Committee chairman Malcolm MacKenzie said the first dance was held because a few of the locals felt there was a need for the young folk to have a dance. There were a number of faces not seen for a while at the last dance, MacKenzie said.
