Six communities in the Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State have on Thursday lamented the hardship its residents are exposed to due to a four-month electricity outage. Oyebowale said the blackout was caused by a faulty 7.5MVA substation located in Moro, which supplies all the affected communities. He said, “It is very sad and very disheartening to note that the Ife-North Local Government has been experiencing total blackout for four months and nothing has been done by the IBEDC to alleviate our problem. “The total blackout has been encouraging kidnapping of people, also the non-supply of electricity has encouraged theft in the communities. Our government and the IBEDC must make sure that positive steps are taken before things get out of hand.”
