Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia is nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize by the Director of Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Henrik Urdal. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed leads Henrik Urdal’s 2019 Nobel Peace Prize Shortlist. Directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes have the mandate to nominate Peace Prize Laureates, according to the Nobel Prize. “Neither the names of nominators nor of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize may be divulged until 50 years have elapsed,” according to the Nobel Prize awarding institution. The Nobel Prize Foundation says, for the 2019 Noble Prize there are 304 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2019 out of which 219 are individuals and 85 are organizations.
