British actor Riz Ahmed today made history to become the first Muslim nominated for an Oscar for lead actor for his role in hit film Sound of Metal. He has won a Primetime Emmy Award and has received nominations for a Golden Globe and three British Independent Film Awards. Biographical drama Mank led nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards on Monday with 10 nods, including best actor and best film. Anthony became the oldest Best Actor nominee at 83. It has already picked up Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Awards for Best Director, Best Picture, along with Best Adapted Screenplay at the latter awards.
