A physician died of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) while undergoing treatment at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday night. The deceased identified as Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, an associate professor of the Orthopedic Surgery Department of the CMCH breathed his last at 10:30pm while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care unit of the hospital. Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Dr Aftabul Islam, Deputy Director of the CMCH said Nazrul Islam was suffering from Covid-19. According to the Bangladesh Medical Association, as many as 12 physicians have so far died of Covid-19 in Chittagong.
