Orsted's CFO and COO Step Down Amid Challenging Industry Environment

On Monday it pulled out of a consortium that was formed to bid on offshore Norwegian wind projects as it prioritizes investments elsewhere. "Orsted, along with the rest of the industry, is experiencing a challenging and volatile business environment," Orsted chief executive Mads Nipper said in a statement Tuesday. Chief Financial Officer Daniel Lerup and Chief Operating Officer Richard Hunter are stepping down with immediate effect and the company has started the process of identifying their replacements. Andrew Brown, who serves as a member of Orsted's board of directors, has been appointed interim COO.
