Orphaned Rohingya children to be separated for better treatment

Orphaned Rohingya refugees who are under 18 years of age are to be separated from the other refugees at the camps, said State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Tuesday. “A total of four to five thousand orphan Rohingya children may have taken shelter at the 2,000-acre temporary shelters for refugees in Teknaf and Ukhiya. He also told the correspondent that 200 orphan children have already been listed in the database. Unicef will provide food for these children and the ministry will coordinate the process of enlisting these children. Nuruzzaman Ahmed is scheduled to visit the Rohingya camps next Thursday.
