Boyne Hill are the current cup holders--Julian Cup chairman Tom Mellor says organisers will consider various options to try and revive interest in the competition after admitting this week, it's ‘not quite what it was a few years ago’. Interest among players and teams appears to have dwindled in recent seasons, with clubs struggling to pull together teams for midweek evening matches. While the semi-final and the final should provide some exciting cricket, the lack of matches played in the earlier rounds is a big concern. Ziya took a couple of wickets for Hill alongside Will Heyes (two), Muteeb Syed (two), Humza Ishaq (three) and Sikandar Rizwan. Teams just can't get their best teams out in midweek or they have them playing minor county cricket.
