An Oregon woman claims she was fired from her bank job after helping a struggling customer get home to his family on Christmas Eve by giving him $20 of her own money. The following day, on Christmas Eve, Eugenio visited his local branch but because of the holiday, no one was able to help him. Eugenio told the paper that the woman from the call center told him to wait for help, as she was just a few miles away. “I handed him $20 in cash, said ‘Merry Christmas’ and went right back to work,” she said. “I don’t think I would want to continue to work for someone who would do that,” she told The Oregonian.
