Oracle looks to tighten bond with Egypt's governmentSenior executives from Oracle met with Egypt's ICT Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Yasser ElKady in Cairo in an effort to maintain a direct line of communication between the government leader and the computer software company in the North African country. This process would be facilitated by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), an arm of the ICT ministry set up to support the development of Egypt's ICT sector. Investing in MEAThe meeting with Egypt's ICT Minister builds on last month's commitment by Oracle to establish an Oracle Digital Hub in Dubai which the company says will employ 400 cloud sales professionals. Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, senior vice president, Middle East and Africa, Oracle believes the Oracle Digital Hub is solid evidence of the company's commitment to the region. "Cloud adoption is on the rise, and with an unmatched portfolio of solutions and support infrastructure, Oracle is poised to lead the region's' digital transformation movement."
