Optical illusion led to plane crash that killed Sask. mining contractor Leonard Banga, report says


On Oct. 10, 2016, a de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver float plane flown by Leonard Banga crashed into a densely forested hillside near Laidman Lake, B.C. (Transportation Safety Board)The report showed the plane stalled as Banga was flying to a cabin on a hunting trip. (442 Transport and Rescue Squadron)As well, the plane's cargo was not secured, and when the plane crashed, the equipment flew forward, injuring the passengers. The plane crashed roughly 180 kilometres southwest of Prince George, B.C. Leonard Banga was killed and four passengers survived.
