Name of candid­ate for Senate chairm­an will be announ­ced on July 11The opposition on Friday decided, during an all-parties conference, to submit a no-confidence motion against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on July 9 as efforts to de-seat the Upper House’s chair gain pace. Representatives from nine parties attended Friday’s moot and chose Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F)’s Akram Khan Durrani as the Rahbar Committee convener. “We all have agreed that the Senate chairman should be removed and motion against him will be submitted on July 9. “Production orders for members of the Parliament should be issued as it is their right to vote for the chairman. Earlier, during the all parties conference in Islamabad, opposition parties had decided to form the committee and follow up on crucial decisions it had taken.
