He called on the Duterte administration to carry out an authentic rice industry development program to decisively address the rice situation,Casilao, who filed House Bill No. 8512 Rice Industry Development Act (Rida) that pushes for a near half a trillion peso, three-year – rice industry development program, maintained that he would file a bill seeking the repeal of the law, upon its publication, 15 days after it was signed by President Duterte. For his part, MAGDALO partylist Rep. Gary Alejano expressed serious concern that the Rice Tariffication Law would heavily impact the Filipino farmers and the local rice industry at large.
