The trade agreement is not the "major breakthrough" touted by President William Lai (賴清德), but an arrangement that would put the uninformed public at risk, the KMT said in a news release. In addition, the party raised 10 major concerns regarding the deal, demanding the executive branch provide explanations for each. The TPP said it has consistently supported deepening Taiwan-US economic and trade cooperation and recognizes the hard work of frontline trade negotiators.
