Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge took on the government alleging that the announcement of Ahamed's death was delayed to make way for presentation of the Budget on Wednesday. As the House met, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan announced the former minister's death. She, however, said that though on the death of a sitting member the House is usually adjourned, it being a sitting for the Budget, the House would continue with its business.
