Giorno served as chief of staff to former Prime Minister Stephen Harper and said that he wasn’t reacting as a Conservative partisan. Giorno said Ottawa’s ethics commissioner should have more power to investigate cash-for-access fundraisers. Controversy over cash-for-access fundraisers dogged the Ontario Liberal government for months last year.
