The residence of the opposition NDC Parliamentary Candidate in that by-election, Delali Kwasi Brempong, on election day came under attack by some National Security Operatives on suspicion that a stockpile of weapons had been kept there. The Commission of Inquiry has also recommended the dissolution of the SWAT team at the National Security Council Secretariat. It further recommended that operatives should be re-assigned to their respective units after disbanding the SWAT team. “The Commission recommends that the SWAT team of the National Security Council Secretariat should be disbanded and operatives be reassigned as appropriate,” the report recommended.
