Keith PowersDaily News CorrespondentCrashing the boundaries between television and opera, the Boston Lyric Opera has assembled a vast cast of singers, actors, directors and producers to create “desert in,” an eight-part miniseries that will debut on BLO’s streaming service, operabox.tv, on June 3. She’s joined by Grammy-nominated soprano Talise Trevigne - the duo play the married couple who own the Desert Inn - alt-cabaret actor and trans activist Mx. “Desert in” was co-created by Reid, peña and Darrah, commissioned by the Boston Lyric Opera and co-produced with Long Beach Opera.
