Ontario’s Liberal finance minister took the unusual step Wednesday of quoting former U.S. vice-president Joe Biden in his economic blueprint. But the budget is, of course, aspirational, its implementation dependent on the Liberals winning the election two months away. “All they do is tax, tax, tax and spend, spend, spend. But the new leader has promised to reduce overall government spending by four per cent while somehow avoiding job cuts. But the debt would still climb, with interest payments on it reaching $16.9 billion a year by 2024-25, from about $12 billion now.
