Ontario reports 513 new COVID cases, around 70% were among unvaccinated people


Ontario is reporting another 513 COVID-19 cases and no new deaths, according to its latest report released Thursday morning. The province’s new data reports 360 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in unvaccinated people, 56 were partially vaccinated, and 88 cases in fully vaccinated people. The seven-day average is at 375 cases daily, or 18.0 weekly per 100,000. Locally, Ontario reports 105 new cases in Toronto, 70 in York Region, 64 in Peel Region, 44 in Durham Region and 29 in Hamilton. There are 1,493 cases in Ontario of the Beta variant first detected in South Africa, with no new cases reported from the previous day.
