Existing government rebates of up to $14,000 for a new electric car will be expanded and up to $1,000 will be available for homeowners wishing to install plugs in the garage or carport. That’s double the number of electric cars now in the province. Wynne wants 5 per cent of passenger cars sold annually in Ontario to be electric.
