Doctors at a children’s hospital in Ontario are asking a new question when assessing a child’s injury: Did you hurt yourself while playing Pokemon GO? He estimates the spike in Pokemon-related incidents is much higher than reported, because patients don’t always reveal how they got hurt. “I’ve seen kids on their bikes wandering in the middle of the street playing Pokemon GO,” he said. “There’s a huge potential for huge injuries.”Crocco said the solution to the problem isn’t to stop playing the game, but instead to play it safely. “It’s not appropriate to walk down the middle of the street, regardless of how valuable a Pokemon might be,” he said.
